Documents to be prepared before printing

Each unit will have a variety of promotional materials, product packaging, product descriptions, etc. that need to be printed, and most units do not know how to print and cannot prepare the required information before printing, which causes a lot of unnecessary trouble. Here we will focus on introducing the issues to be considered before printing and the materials prepared.
1. Choose the printing method before going out to print, because each printing method uses different paper, ink, and printing press, different processes, different printing effects, different information to be provided, and different printing prices. For general advertising pages and company product introductions, choose ordinary offset printing (referred to as offset printing), corrugated cardboard boxes can choose offset printing or screen printing (referred to as silk printing), and plastic film flexible packaging can choose gravure printing (referred to as gravure printing) or flexographic printing. Printing (referred to as flexo printing), giant color advertising printing can choose silk screen printing or large-scale inkjet printing, curved surface items can choose letterpress printing (referred to as relief printing), gravure printing or silk printing and so on.
2. Before the computer design and production, you need to prepare the text draft and image draft (including the company logo and registered trademark of the product required for the production, the image should be clear, preferably reversal film, photo, and printer is not available The printed manuscript is an image manuscript, because of its low resolution and poor results after scanning), color requirements (mainly unchangeable colors, it is best to mark the value of CMYK), if the page has been designed, you need to provide details The layout includes the page size, image size, text size and color, color block size and color, and the color mentioned here is best marked with CMYK value.
3. Pay attention to the choice of finished size when designing your own page. Before deciding the size of the finished product, you need to decide what machine to use for printing. What kind of paper (large or positive paper) can be used. Several pages can be arranged on a sheet of paper. It is a big sum of money to waste paper.
4. Before making and outputting, you also need to confirm the number of printed colors and whether there are spot colors. The general printing is four colors, namely CMYK four colors, and the printing completes the reproduction of various colors in nature through the superposition of these four colors. However, in some cases, you can add some spot colors, such as gold, silver, etc., to replicate the colors that are difficult to express in the four-color overlay. At the same time, when you use spot colors to reduce the number of printing colors, you can also use spot colors, such as only red and black on the page. Two-color and red are generally represented by M + Y. In this case, three-color printing is required, and two-color printing is used for spot color red printing, which can save part of the cost.
5. If you have finished production, you only need to output and print. The resolution required by each printing process is different, but the required file mode is CMYK, and RGB mode output is not available. Ordinary offset printing generally requires more than 133lpi output, so the image requires more than 260dpi, low resolution will affect the printing effect; screen printing generally requires a lower output line number, about 30lpi-60lpi, so the requirements for image resolution are also more Low, generally around 100dpi; the requirements for flexo printing should be selected according to the printing material, the general corrugated paper image resolution is 120dpi-150dpi, newsprint is 150dpi-180dpi, coated paper and adhesive paper is 180dpi-200dpi , Plastic and metal films are 200dpi-260dpi, general dot printing is more than 260dpi.
6. When making your own pages, you also need to pay attention to problems such as bleeding, imprinting, and trapping, which are described in other articles, so I wo n’t go into details here.
In addition, it is also very important to consider the number of print copies before printing. The number of prints for printing plants is different for different printing methods. (The number of prints refers to the cost of printing. In addition to the cost of paper, the minimum price of other costs is based on the number of prints. Calculation). For example, the initial printing number of general offset printing is 3,000 and 5,000. If the printing number is lower than this, the unit price of printing is relatively high; the initial printing number of silk printing is 300 copies, and the screen printing resistance is 3000 copies. The rate refers to the maximum number of copies that can be printed on the screen), if more than 3000 copies, the screen needs to be replaced.
These are all issues that you need to consider before printing. Only after you have considered these issues clearly will it be possible to obtain satisfactory printed products within the desired time.
