InMat's new product NanolokPTADV-7 water-based paint formulation provides a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective choice for transparent, high-oxygen and moisture-proof food packaging. By reducing the required shielding materials and using only harmless materials, thereby reducing carbon emissions and environmental impact, this technology enables food companies to produce products with a longer shelf life.
Compared with the lowest cost transparent high oxygen barrier material, NanolokPTADV-7 can reduce material and process costs. Coating thicknesses in the range of 0.5-0.8 microns provide better oxygen barrier properties, and provide better oxygen barrier and moisture resistance compared to PVDC coated PET. These transparent layers can be completed by commercial roll coating equipment, and at the same time can be compared with the performance of more expensive vacuum and plasma deposition coatings. This technology can already achieve a coating speed of 900 feet per minute.
NanolokPT coatings do not contain halogens, VOCs and other harmful ingredients, and comply with video contact regulations in the United States and Europe. A very small amount of Nanolok shielding paint that needs to meet the required shelf life will increase the recyclability of shielding packaging. Nanolok technology will also reduce the total amount of materials recovered. NanolokPTADV-7 coating bio-derived polymers also meet the composition standards.
