Select ink must determine the print head

Because different types of machine nozzles have different principles, the inks used are also different. If the ink selection is wrong, nozzle damage will be inevitable. At present, inks can be roughly divided into:

1. DYE (indoor) dye-type thermal foaming ink

Applicable to HP or NOVAJET indoor models. Because the ink contains high foaming agent, after heated by the ink head resistance, the ink generates bubbles in a very short time, and then squeezes the ink out, but at a long time Under the changes, the ink chamber becomes lossy in the severe environmental changes of high heat and high pressure. Because the development of alternative ink is more successful, the cost is lower, but the loss of the nozzle is an irreducible cost. The water content of ink used in general thermal foam inkjet printers needs to be between 70% and 90% to keep the nozzles smooth and cooperate with the role of thermal energy, which means that sufficient time must be left to allow the ink to dry on the media without It will spread outwards, so it is often equipped with a drying device on the machine to avoid damage to the picture.

2. DYE (indoor) dye-type micro-pressure ink

Suitable for models using EPSON printheads, including the latest MIMAKI JV-4, MUTOH RJ-8000 and ROLAND FJ-500 / 600 series. Piezoelectric printheads use a piezoelectric crystal to impact and oscillate a fixed in the printhead The diaphragm, so that the ink in the print head is ejected. Because it is a "cold spray", the nozzle does not need to be replaced regularly, but the early ink price is higher, so the early indoor production cost is higher than thermal foaming. The recently launched MUTOH RJ-8000 series and MIMAKI JV4 series use the third generation EPSON The nozzle is greatly improved in printing speed, and the micro piezoelectric ink is also reduced to less than 0.25 yuan / ml, so the indoor production will use micro piezoelectric as the mainstream model.

3. PIGMENT (outdoor) pigment micro piezoelectric ink

Applicable to models using EPSON printheads, including the latest MIMAKI JV-4, MUTOH RJ-8000 and ROLAND FJ-500 / 600 series, but because of the need to cover the film, and the outdoor production process is complicated, the cost is high, and it has not become the mainstream ink.

4. Oil-based ink

Only applicable to MUTOH RJ-8000 / RJ6000 and ROLAND FJ50 / 40/500/400 and MIMAKI JV2 series. Due to the limitations of micro-piezo nozzles, the outdoor weather resistance is about 6 months. Because of the production of oil-based inks, no coating is required The spray-coated light box cloth is widely used in areas where indoor production and outdoor replacement are frequent (about half a year).

5. Solvent ink

It is suitable for large-scale inkjet printers and the latest limit FY-6180. The ink is strongly corrosive and can directly penetrate into the interior of the light box cloth and PVC material. Therefore, the requirements for the nozzle are high. A special solvent nozzle is required and the nozzle is attached. The equipment requirements are also high, so solvent inks are not suitable for any EPSON nozzles in Japan, and currently only the British XRRA and US companies are capable of producing the nozzles. Sai Angel, SALSA, Witt and the latest extreme FY-6180 all use this type of nozzle. And it has a fully automatic ink filter system, so it is a professional outdoor production equipment, and the outdoor weather resistance can also be guaranteed for about two years.
