Autumn is the best time to lay wooden floors

Recently, some owners have brought a phone call saying that the floor they laid in the summer has cracked a clear gap, and I don’t know what caused it. In this regard, the relevant floor industry explained that: the room temperature is higher in summer, when the paved floor enters the autumn and winter seasons, it is affected by the physical factors of thermal expansion and contraction, which is easy to cause deformation, and even more obvious cracks appear. In the winter, the floor is paved, and in the summer, there will be swelling and drumming. Therefore, in general, it is best to choose to lay the floor in spring and autumn.

If you have to choose summer construction, you must avoid the floor being exposed to the sun, to ensure that the room temperature is below 30 °C; the winter construction temperature should not be lower than 16 °C. As a southern city, Chengdu has better conditions for laying the floor than the northern cities, mainly by ventilation and dehumidification.

The specific method of paving is: adjust the orientation of the floor, and extend from the door to the room. The maximum span of the floor is 6m×8m. Exceeding this limit, a shrinkage seam must be used and the buckle should be used; the wall root and the door bead interface The reserved expansion joints should be larger than 8 mm; the joints should be continuous and uniform, and the residual glue should be cleaned in time; the baseboard must be 12 mm thick, otherwise it is difficult to cover the shrinkage joints; the thickness of the aluminum alloy bead should be more than 2 mm. It is too thin to be easily deformed. In addition, after the stay, the floor is best maintained once a month, not only can extend the life of the floor, but also prevent moisture in the air from penetrating into the substrate, resulting in deformation of the floor.
